หัวเรื่อง:การประเมินค่าพารามิเตอร์ทางพันธุกรรมในไก่ไข่ที่คัดเลือกมาจากประชากรที่ผ่านการผสมแบบไดอัลลิล ผู้เขียน:ดร.วรวิทย์ สิริพลวัฒน์, รองศาสตราจารย์, Satit Yuyoen สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractCrossbred layer chickens derived from a diallele crossed F1 population were selected as a parental stock. Artificial inseminations were performed to generate F2 progenies. The traits of the F2 population considered were the age of first egg (AFE), the average egg weight at 262 days of age (EW), and the egg number at 262 days of age (EP). The data were analyzed for genetic parameters using 2 methods; the least squares by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the restricted maximum likelihood (REML). The linear statistical model used in this experiment was sire-dam model. The means of AFE, EW and EP in the F2 population were better than those in the parents (F1) at the values of 5.4 days, 2.04 grams, and 0.34 eggs, respectively. The error variance ( se 2 ) analyzed with ANOVA and REML manifested nearly the same values for each trait in this study. The heritability value computed from sire component ( hs 2 ) for all traits were high and similar to those obtained from the two analysis methods. Nevertheless, the heritability value calculated from dam component ( hd 2 ) revealed a low value for AFE and EP and a medium value for EW. The genetic correlation calculated from sire + dam component (rG(s+d)) between the AFE-EW, AFE-EP and EW-EP were -0.025, -0.824, and -0.333, respectively. However, the genetic parameters analysed using REML method under the sire-dam model in the selected layer population of this study did not show higher efficiency and accuracy than those using the ANOVA method. |

หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Genetic Parameters for Weaning Weight, Weaning Hip Height and Weaning Body Length of Crossbred Beef Cattle in Thailand) ผู้เขียน:Tamirat Tessema, ดร.พรรณวดี โสพรรณรัตน์, รองศาสตราจารย์, ดร.ศรเทพ ธัมวาสร, ศาสตราจารย์, ทวีพร เรืองพริ้ม สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractGenetic parameters for weaning weight (WWT), weaning hip height (WHH) and weaning body length (WBL) of crossbred beef cattle among the Thai Native, Brahman and Charolais breeds raised in central Thailand were estimated using a derivative-free, restricted maximum likelihood algorithm. Multivariate animal models were employed to estimate the direct heritability (h2) of WWT, WHH and WBL and to estimate the maternal heritability (m2), the direct-maternal genetic correlation (ram), and the fraction of variance due to maternal permanent environmental effect (c2) only for WWT. The model fi tted contemporary group (CG) and sex as fi xed effects and weaning age and breed fractions of Brahman and Charolais as fi xed covariates. Estimates of h2 ranged from 0.54 to 0.68, 0.68 to 0.93 and 0.33 to 0.48 for WWT, WHH and WBL, respectively. The estimates of m2, ram and c2 for WWT ranged from 0.20 to 0.23, -0.38 to -0.36 and 0.00 to 0.08, respectively. The direct genetic correlations between traits ranged from 0.59 to 0.98. The high genetic correlations between traits indicated the possibility of performing selection for WWT based on the information from WHH and WBL. A simple direct genetic effect model was determined to be appropriate for analyzing the current data set based on the likelihood ratio test but the estimates of h2 for traits might bias upward. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Genetic Association between Age and Litter Traits at First Farrowing in a Commercial Pietrain-Large White Population in Thailand) ผู้เขียน:Pranithi Pholsing, Skorn Koonawootrittriron2, Mauricio A. Elzo, ดร.ธนาทิพย์ สุวรรณโสภี, รองศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractGenetic associations between age at first farrowing (AFF), number born alive (NBA), stillborn and mummy (LOST) and total birth weight of live piglets (TBW) were estimated using data from 1777 Pietrain (PT) and 450 Large White (LW) sows gathered from 1999 to 2006 in a commercial swine population. All pigs were halothane gene negative, reared in an open-house system and given the same diet, management and health care. The variance and covariance for AFF, NBA, LOST and TBW were estimated using average information restricted maximum likelihood procedures and subsequently used to calculate heritabilities and genetic correlations. A four-trait animal model (AFF-NBA-LOST-TBW) was used that accounted for contemporary group (year-month) and breed as fixed effects and animal and residual as random effects. Large White pigs had shorter AFF (10.00 ? 2.34 d; P < 0.01), more NBA (1.20 ? 0.22 piglets; P < 0.01), less LOST (0.20 ? 0.11 piglets; P < 0.01) and lighter TBW (1.11 ? 0.30 kg; P < 0.01) than PT pigs. Heritability estimates were 0.06 ? 0.03 for AFF, 0.11 ? 0.04 for NBA, 0.08 ? 0.04 for LOST and 0.08 ? 0.03 for TBW. Genetic correlations between AFF and NBA (0.19 ? 0.26), LOST (-0.11 ? 0.33) and TBW (0.14 ? 0.32) were low. These low correlation estimates indicated that selection for AFF could be carried out in this commercial swine population without severe undesirable effects on litter traits. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Genetic Parameters for Birth Weight and Weaning Weight in Anglo-Nubian, Saanen, Thai Native and Crossbred Goats) ผู้เขียน:จิตติมา กันตนามัลลกุล, ดร.พรรณวดี โสพรรณรัตน์, รองศาสตราจารย์, Monchai Duangjinda, สุวิทย์ อโนทัยสินทวี, ดร.ศรเทพ ธัมวาสร, ศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractGenetic parameters were estimated for birth weight and weaning weight in Anglo-Nubian, Saanen, Thai native and crossbred goat populations maintained at the Yala Livestock Research and Breeding Center. Records on 2,845 kids descended from 54 bucks and 615 does from 1995 to 2005 were included in the analysis. Analyses were carried out using the DFREML algorithm and fitting four different animal models that included or ignored maternal genetic and permanent environmental effects. In Model 1 only the direct genetic effect was fitted. The maternal permanent environmental effect was added in Model 2, while the maternal genetic effect was added in Model 3. In Model 4, the maternal genetic and permanent environmental effects were included from Model 1. The genetic covariance between the direct and maternal effects was included in Models 3 and 4. The estimates of direct heritability increased when the maternal genetic effect was added with the direct and maternal covariance. The estimates of maternal heritability slightly decreased when the maternal permanent environmental effect was added to the model. The direct-maternal genetic correlation estimates were negative, whereas estimates of the maternal permanent environmental variance as a proportion of phenotypic variance were low. The likelihood ratio test showed that Model 4 was the best for birth weight and Model 3 was the best for weaning weight. |
